Just got my all stock M700 sps Varmint barrel, action, and bolt back. I must say GREAT JOB on it! Barrel was cut down from 26 to 20'' break, installed, (BAD ASS) bolt handle installed and cleaned up the trigger. Thing looks great and I cant wait to try it out, only one problem........FeD Ex decided to help with my trigger pull, so now instead they modified it to be a push button. Yep I fell victim to shipping miss handling. I just want to state for the record nothing more could have been done to secure the barrel, it was wrapped and strapped in the case, even a double scoped rifle case. I feel bad because I cant shoot it yes, but I feel even worse because Mark put his time into something and I know for one, there's no better pleasure then seeing your hard work put to use. But, Mark is helping me out to remedy this so yet another Thanks goes out to him, "Thank You Mark." My advice, send your rifle together in a stock with the trigger GAURD...... Dont be a dummy like me!

Re: Back From SAC

I sent Mark my 700 without the stock and kept the trigger guard on it just for this reason, the guy does really nice work, I have sent several projects to him and they are all outstanding.

+1....I've had this happen also. The X-Mark can make a good trigger with a little work, but I can't live with the MIM parts.

Re: Back From SAC

Thanks again Mark, as soon as I get it Ill send out the broken one, I cant wait to get to the range, and the wife is liking it better already.

Re: Back From SAC

That's lousy to hear, as Mark's shown already he's going to take good care of you.

This is why I ship the rifle either completely assembled (in the stock) or with the trigger uninstalled and packed/padded separately. Even the trigger guard doesn't protect against everything that can happen, a side impact can cause problems too.

Shame to hear you can't use your improved rifle right away. Nice looking work Mark!

Re: Back From SAC

Well couldnt wait anymore, just reassembled everything - the trigger and I cant wait to get this thing to the range, the trigger finger is inching..... Looks even better together Mark!

Re: Back From SAC

I don't understand how the trigger broke if it was strapped in that padded case.

Why are you sending the action back to SAC? I thought you had a replacement trigger en route?

Nice work, BTW.

...Um, do you not remember saying this?

Just sayin'.

Re: Back From SAC

To do the Fed Ex claim, the recipient must box the rifle back up, Fed Ex will pick it up, evaluate it, ship it back to the shipper (Myself) the claim will be completed, I install a new trigger and perform a trigger job again, then I ship it back to the recipient again with out breaking the trigger!!!

I held on to the trigger once I talked with Fed Ex about filling out the claim. There was no point in sending a trigger when the customer was not going to have the rifle anymore.

Re: Back From SAC

Yeah like Mark says it's gotta go back for them to do the evaluation on it, just going threw the motions, I could have sent the rifle in a dummy stock but that would of not duplicated how it was shipped the first time, I did ship it with the trigger gourd and mag. well installed and padded. As I stated earlier and just want to reiterate NONE OF THIS IS SAC's FAULT. The action and barrel were padded, wrapped, and strapped in the case, it had to have been dropped on end pretty hard to cause it to fall out of all that and strike the side of the case. I would and am recommending SAC for any future work.

Mark </div></div>What a PITA. Frustrating on both parties. Probably even more so to N2DADARK, getting his fresh toy back and not being able to try it out. Hope everything goes smoothly the second time around.

Re: Back From SAC

Yeah it dose suck, Im just waiting and getting rounds ready, I just hope they dont drag there feet on this. But Im sure they will some how.

Re: Back From SAC

I've attached and over padded the trigger guard. I dont want to send the stock out separately due to the costs and them loosing it and such as well, I've almost paid for another rifle in just customizing alone due to all this plus the fact that Ive read one too many posts of full rifles going missing in the mail.

Re: Back From SAC

Well start the timer, they picked it up today, waited until about 4PM. Its funny because I was playing Black Ops w/ the wife at about 10AM and saw the UPS guy and the FedEx truck drive by. Oh forgot the best part, was going to leave it on the front porch (hidden) because we had to go to the commissary to get food and we got to the end of the street and saw another FedEx truck. So we turned around and chased him down. Got to the house asked "are you here for the pickup," he replied "no just a drop off," after poking around in his truck for about 5 min, he realized that he was there to pick up.....Duhh...... so he grabbed the box gave me a receipt w/ the tracking # and proceeded on throwing the box on his shoulder...... HIS FUCKING SHOULDER.... this box was a good 30lbs, no fucking respect for other peoples stuff and the more I think about it the more pissed I get. What do you all think, Im thinking about calling them up and complaining about him, probably the reason the thing was broken in the first place. The wife and I are pissed now as we are worried about everything getting lost now!
