So here's the deal. I have a Surgeon XL and a NF 5.5-22x 56mm. I don't think the std height Max 50s will clear the obj with a height of .823, but the 1.125 will clear for sure. Was also looking at the DMR rings with a height of 1.031. Is there any disadvantage going with the DMR rings and not having the extra width/clamping power of the Max 50 on one set of rings? Anyone know the history of the DMR rings and the two different ring sizes?

Thanks in advance!

No, you don't need the extra clamping power for any round that fires through a xl action.
