I can't tell from any pictures that Ive found how this thing mounts. Is there a separate plate on the side that tightens down or does it slide on your existing rail, then use set screws? Will this rail allow me to use low rings with a 50mm scope? I'm trying to keep things as low as possible and I'm away from my scope so I cant really measure things the way Id like to. Thanks fellas.

almost forgot: LR308b with an A3 upper.

Yes there are actually two plates. In the pic below you can see the ends of the four screws that hold the rail to the rifle's rail. That is a 56mm objective in a set of 1" height rings just to help you out with figuring what height rings you will need

Bump for knowledge

Does anyone know if a set of badger standard height rings "Height 0.823″, Diameter: 30mm"
and a leupold with a 50mm objective will work on an AR if I use a badger 22moa riser?

Figure you really need the extra 20moa on the BO riser?

LaRue makes a non-canted QD riser that is more flexible. See the pic? That S&B ought be mounted fully forward of the charging handle, but the design of the BO rail can't be set any further forward due to the fore & aft recoil screw. The LaRue base has dual QD levers on Left side, and a large integral recoil lug in between the levers. Still need to have the fore lever bearing on the pic rail relief, but you gain several additional slots of forward positioning. On an AR-10, when fully fwd installed, the rear edge of the LaRue 5/8" Riser is 5.5" forward of the charging handle. The riser is 6" oal.

If your scope has 30-35moa of elevation, and you aren't expecting your .308 to be viable beyond 850yds, the LaRue might be a solution.
