badger ordnance FTE break question

I want to put the FTE break on my rifle. Does it matter which size I get? My barrel has a big enough diameter that either one that Badger offers would fit.

The reason I want to get it is I typically shoot by myself and have been having trouble spotting my shots. I can see the impact of the rounds but can usually only tell the general direction that they are off, high left etc. Will this break reduce the recoil/muzzle rise enough that I will be able to consistently see the impact of my rounds. I am trying to spot hits at 500m on clay pigeons.

Re: badger ordnance FTE break question

It is a big and effective break. Will it help enough to let you spot hits? Well what are you shooting, also if your driving it right there should be no reason you shouldn't be able to spot hits at 500, with a break

Re: badger ordnance FTE break question

Id agree with triggertime, if you are driving the gun right then you should have no problems spotting your shots. But the FTE will make it easy to do

Re: badger ordnance FTE break question

The rifle is a GA crusader. I am able to see my hits just not well enough to say the shot was 3'' inches to right or 2'' left. Instead I can only see if the shot went left or right and I make an adjustment and end up wasting ammo because I adjust too much or too little.

Re: badger ordnance FTE break question

you arent driving it right if thats the case. But yes you can order either thread pitch, just make sure you tell whoever threads your barrel the thread pitch of the brake, it might be best to send it to someone with the brake as well so they have both pieces in hand to do it with

Re: badger ordnance FTE break question

You had a GA rifle, don't have someone else screw with it, just send the B/A back to GAP and ask them to thread and install an FTE on it. They'll use the right one (I'd guess 5/8x24 is what you'll get).

"Driving the rifle" is a term used to convey how to manage recoil to ensure that you are getting as little, if any, movement at all during the shot. It involves not only proper body placement but finger placement and movement as well. It's not one particular thing but rather a concept technique.
