What's the highest temperature that I can expose an HS Precision stock to with the factory rubber pad attached? I would like to use some left over KG Gun Kote to match my receiver/ barrel.

Re: Baking an HS stock

DO NOT BAKE THE STOCK! It will crack when the aluminum bedding block swells with the heat......ask me how I know.

The only viable option is to use an air dry paint.

I cooked one at 170 degrees ( lowest setting I could use ) and the aluminum swelled up with the heat and put a split down the belly of it. I had a friend crack one doing the same thing and he had the oven on 170 and set the stock on an open door of the oven...still cracked although it was not nearly as severe as the one I did.
