Range Report Ballistic App For Blackbery?

Re: Ballistic App For Blackbery?

I have looked around a lot but not found anything for my blackberry. I get cell coverage at my range, and have used www.direkon.com to pull quick solutions when I was having trouble with my pre-printed range cards.

I have a droid that runs a bunch of stuff, but I've mostly converted to using pre-printed Density altitude range cards and a kestrel now so I really don't even use a computer in the field unless something strange is going on.

1. Google Search function is your friend, and using it improves your appearance.

2. A decent ballistic app for Blackberry (named GunSim) was discussed here. It works OK.

2a. While Bbackberry ballistic app works - iPhone (or iPod Touch 4) and ballistic apps on it (Ballistic FTE and Bullet Flight) are beyond comparison above everything else I've seen there. If you insist on a free app - iStrelok on iPhone works.

Grump, Google-Fu also requires training and practice!

Precise search gives better results. For example, looking for "Blackberry ballistic app" (which was what the OP presumably was interested in) brought ten pages of Google references only on Sniper's Hide: correct SH Google search

The first issue isn't big - as (a) GunSim is also not flashy by any standard, and (b) the "supply" is so meager that one is happy to accept (and pay for) anything that at least computes fine.

The second issue was a deal-killer for me, and will probably be such for many others. It doesn't matter that it's free because it's unusable (to me). I'm not going to switch from the bullets I'm happy with (that get the job done) to Lapua bullets simply because I'm too cheap to pay $8 for GunSim or bring my iPod along with full-strength ballistic calculators.

Re: Ballistic App For Blackbery?

The state of affairs for Blackberry ballistic software is pretty sad. At least the Lapua software is there, of course that didn't help anyone not using their bullets (I was in my 338 at least). I have since convinced my boss we needed to go Android and can use Shooter.

Re: Ballistic App For Blackbery?

I ave a free excell based app from the net,I just saved it on the berry as a file and it runs great. I save each rifle as a file by its name and just pull up te weapon of the day in excel and go bang!
