ballistic comp vs range cards

Re: ballistic comp vs range cards

I say having both is the way to go. I shoot 1 load from my .260 and several loads in the 308 300 WM 243 and 7 STW. Fo rhunting I just use cards cause no battery no rain worries all that good stuff. BUt I use a comp for making those to get me started. Use field data over everything. Not saying it's the best but it works for me. JBM link on this site works well for free. Good luck

Re: ballistic comp vs range cards

Ill put it this way, Ive never regretted purchasing Shooter, and I always put the time in to get accurate DOPE on a rifle/load.

Dope will never be replaced. That said, given solid dope at multiple ranges you can use a ballistic calc to determine what your data is in different conditions. Traveling for a hunt or match, the ballistic cal can be of great help.

On a side not, when I hear range card I think...
