Range Report Ballistics for reman French 50 bmg

Re: Ballistics for reman French 50 bmg

There are a couple good articles floating around on the pulled bullets for reloading, but I am not sure about what you are shooting.

I do remember that the typical ball ammunition (690 SA pull downs) for was around .67 BC. If your rounds are FMJ I will bet that will be somewhere in the ballpark.

Depending on the ammunition, I bet you'd be 2800ish, but it could possibly less.

Shooting the French surplus remanufactured by summit out of a BA50. Taking it out to a mile tomorrow. Hence the curiosity for the mv and bc so I can figure a rough trajectory. Either way should be fun.

Not to sure about the french stuff but since it seems pretty close weight to APM2 I will say BC will be a match for standard AP at 690-700 grain with a BC of .675 and it should have a MV of approx 2650 give or take.
Take the chrono out with you and give an after report.

Re: Ballistics for reman French 50 bmg

Wasn't able to get out this weekend, we had a winter storm knock us up in Utah. Gusts 30-40 mph, super cold rain and now snow. Not ideal for shooting past 1000 yds. I had to settle on the gun show instead. Oh well hopefully weather will be better next weekend. I will post on the shoot when the weather cooperates. Yes with the chrono out too.
