Re: Barnes Ammo Review? Thoughts?
Can't vouch for the factory loaded stuff, but my first deer I killed with a handloaded TSX sold me on them for ever. Took a shot at a running whitetail with my AR10 and dropped it like a sack of taters. I shot her dead on into the brisket as she was running right at me at about 25 yards. I inspected the entry wound as I was new to the ammo, and to my surprise, it looked like a 4 blade broad head had hit her. The entry wound was an X. Confused, I looked back to where I shot her from, and there was a 2-3" balsam sapling that had the back side blown off. Bullet went through the tree and peeled back the HP into the 4 "petals" and proceeded to hit the deer already expanded and killed her DRT. No exit wound as the bullet was going from chest to ass and I could not find the bullet in the gut pile. Barnes makes one hell of a tough bullet.
