I was hoping for suggestions for a 14.5" barrel with headspaced bolt. I contacted Criterion about their Core chrome lined barrel and headspaced bolt, but wait time is 7-9 months. This was after I was unable to get any estimate from Ranier Arms about their Mountain Mod 2 barrel. I checked White Oak Armament and all of their barrels that fit my criteria are backordered. I will contact them about wait time. Are their any other suggestions for comparable barrels? I want a 14.5" chrome lined barrel with excellent barrel life, good accuracy, and a heavier profile for heat dissipation for run and gun high volume type activities. Maybe there are other distributors Im not aware of? Both Ranier Arms and Criterion offer LE discounts which put those barrels around $250-$300. If waiting on backorder is necessary to get what I'm wanting then I will do it, but you all are far better informed and experienced in this area. I will be using a Vltor MUR upper, ADM UIC lower, Vltor A5, Geissele MK4 and SD 3G in an attempt to maximize performance from a more premium barrel.

Daniel defense 1:7 CL. I built my URGI using one of their 14.5” chrome lined barrels. Shoots about 1.25 MOA at 100m with my 77smk handloads.

You don’t need to have a “headspaced” bolt come with it. just use a go/no go gauge set to verify headspace with whichever bolt you currently have. I run all MP bolts; daniel defense, colt, LMT etc all make them available.

Any recommendations on go/no go gauges? Im waiting to hear back from CLE as to their turnaround time. I wanted to use a JP enhanced bolt. I believe they will allow you to send them your bolt, but if I could do it that would make things easier.

I have Forster gauges. Check ebay, amazon or any of the big online retailers (midway, brownells, etc) for prices and availability.

If you are looking at AR15 platforms, and using a quality bolt and barrel, you will not need to headspace. The specs and tolerances are known, and seldom do we see a rifle or bolt hit the NO-GO on the test gauge. BUT, stick with quality brands. Most of our AR's are military grade, and are like legos between brands. When you get to the budget builds, all bets are off. We have started to see some bad BCGs on the market.

For 308AR builds, definitely, the bolt and the barrel extension need to be matched, as this platform varies quite a bit brand to brand.

Noveske Afghan Barrel AR-15 5.56x45mm 14.5" Light Contour 1 in 7" Twist .750" Mid Length Gas Port Low Profile Gas Block Cold Hammer Forged Chrome Lined

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1023447739?pid=520825

Our chrome lined barrels are cold hammered forged and made with the material callouts and manufacturing process for the M249 Machine Gun barrel.

The cold hammer forging process work hardens the steel around a rifled mandrel, which creates the lands and grooves. The barrel is then chrome lined to the spec for a M249 Machine Gun barrel, which is about twice as thick as that of an M4 barrel. The end result is a rifle that can be run hard day after day. For any high round count, high temperature, heavy shooting, we recommend our chrome lined barrel.

I know you want chrome lined but just FYI proof research barrels are head spaced to JP's enhanced bolt.
