Barrel length change / load change?

I shortened my .260 from 27 to 24 inches. I shot my original load today which showed a glimmer of its former glory.

Do I need to regain my old velocity by upping my powder charge. Hopefully I can without going over pressure? Or do I start all over with load development?

    Opinions?

I run the same 308 round through my 20" factory to my 26" custom. Velocities are different but accuracy isnt. You want the same comeup chart or the same group size?

I'd say do more than glimpse the glory before deciding a change is in order.

    If your accuracy is acceptable,
if your velocity still does 1000 yards,

then what are you trying to fix?

    Good luck

Work up a new load but atleast you know where you were already so it doesn't have to be a total overhaul. If you aren't at your max powder charge I would just start bumping it up a little but keep an eye on pressure.

I think you just answered your own question.
