Barrel length matter?

For 600 yard shots with a Remington 700 in .308 cal. Would I see a difference in accuracy between a 20" and 26" barrel?

I searched on the forms and couldn't find an answer, sorry if I missed it.

Not being a nit picker but you have to spell the word correctly, the search blows enough without that. l e n g t h

Pesonally I have cut a couple 26 inch factory 308 barrels back to 20 inches and in doing so lost about 70 fps with the same accuracy. No big deal at 600 yards.
