I worked up a load for my 243 the other day. Found a good shooting load and it showed no pressure. I noticed my sling stud was loose so when I got back home I put some devcon down in the hole and screwed the stud back into the stock. I go back to the range today and shoot the same loads from Tuesday and there so hot it's locking the bolt up and putting stout ejector marks on the brass. I can't figure out what the hell is going on, conditions are exactly the same. I take the gun apart and clean the hell out of it and when assembling it back, I noticed that the devcon had pushed up through the swivel hole and basically bedded itself to the bottom of the barrel but didn't stick. The barrel was no longer floating and was resting on the devcon in the barrel channel. Could this have changed my harmonics and caused my pressure issues? I pulled a few loads from today and they were the right powder charge, primer....as the other day. Can't figure this one out, my load is 43.5 and worked up to 44.5 Tuesday with 0 pressure signs.
