Alright guys, trying not to geek out here too much, but...
Decided to assemble a Savage bolt gun for my first PR. Seems like I can get an Savage action and bolt a Shilen/Douglas/McGowen barrel on it and a McMillan or HS stock for about the same price as buying a new 10FCP.
So, yeah, again not trying to geek out here, but what barrel profile do folks recommend? Shilen, for instance, offers Bull (1 inch dia at muzzle) and Varmint (.80 dia at muzzle).
Presuming the 24" length is safest if I want to shoot 1,000 yards.
