Re: barrel set-back
I'm afraid Bolt's right on this... I have a few of these myself. Too bad the wife doesn't have time for a garden this year...
I have friends who shoot BR and they are chasing lands, so they may do one or two setbacks to pull the throat back. But we're talking 6 Dasher's.
The 300WSM is a very abusive round when it comes to barrel life, and if the throat is already worn out, you'll have to cut an awful lot off that barrel to find good lands.
When my friends 7STW barrel just stopped shooting one day, he had it scoped and found that, yes, the throat was worn out... and there were no lands for about 10 inches.
YMMV
