I just purchased a new Remington 700 LTR. Either the flutes were cut to one side or barrel is not perfectly timed to receiver. When I sight down the action the action and barrel and reference the top center of action with top center of barrel between the flute cuts they seem to off about maybe 5 degrees, like the barrel needs to be tightened into receiver just a bit more. Should I take this to my smith for correction or not worry about it?

If you are saying the flutes don't line up at top dead center, realize that they are cut before the barrel is installed and pretty much never line up dead on. If you are suggesting the flutes point a different direction than the barrel, that a potential issue. The second case is very unlikely though.

The flutes do not appear to be point a different direction than barrel. The barrel just appears to be tilted or off time. If it wasn't for the flutes being cut on the barrel I don't think I would even have noticed.
