Barrett conversion - caliber thoughts

Happy Monday. Need opinions - looking for a barrel conversion kit for an MRAD - just long range target use - already have 338 LM and 6.5 CM. Yell back with thoughts on either 308 and 300 PRC. I was originally planning the 308, figuring three tiers of shooting distance (500, 1000, 1500), but the 308 package for civilian production is backed up due to Barrett's $50 million SOCOM contract. I can find 300 PRC package at a retailer but think the 300 PRC is too close in performance to the 6.5 CM. So either wait on 308 or buy 300 PRC now.

As always, thanks in advance...

I have kits for 6.5-CM, 300-WM, 300-PRC, and 338-LM. My two favorites are 300-PRC and 338-LM where I get similar solid results. That said, if you've already got the big-bore long-range barrel (338-LM), there's an argument that 6.5-CM should be barrel #2. The 338 takes you to 2,000 yards, the 6.5 sweet spot is 1,200-ish.

I might actually sell my 300-WM barrel conversion kit since I'm just not using it.

Thanks Rusty. I figured the 308 would be my 500 yard-ish choice with less expensive ammo. I'm starting to think I will just wait for the 308 order to be complete. BTW, Semper Fi (E-5, 0341 1977 - 1981).

I started with the 308 barrel but didn't keep it long. I guess I sort of feel like shooting a MRAD at 500 yards is like kissing your sister ... it looks good from a distance, but it doesn't really do much for you. I have other guns to plink at 500 yards. My MRAD is to "kiss" targets out 1,000 yards or more.
