Barrett MRAD Breech Conversion?

Need a little help guys. Barrett has this Breech conversion out for the MRAD now but I have not gotten any clear information on which rifle version it is needed on. I read some threads on here that appeared to say this was only needed for the older MRAD rifles and that it would not be required on the newer MRAD's that were released is this true? I have emailed Barrett customer service but haven't gotten any response, I am currently in Afghanistan so calling and getting someone on the phone is difficult at times. If so is the breech only required to step down to the .308 meaning it would not be required to run 300WM on the older rifles? Barrett's website does not give much information other than its a large to small breech conversion which has me thinking that it is only for the older rifles since you can buy them now in .308 and there is no small to large breech available for purchase. I found a decent deal on one of the older rifles unfired new in the box but the savings will be offset if I need to purchase this $429 breech conversion.

Spoke with Barrett this morning the breech conversion is required on all older riffles to step down to 300WM and .308, the newer MRADS do not require anything. Barrel TPI for 338LM is 3/4x20 300WM and .308 are both 5/8x24.

There you go. I think the reason you didn't get any initial responses is because these conversions are still very new and only now getting out to end users.
