I'm looking to source a Bartlein barrel, looking for a blank to make a 300 WM in a finished 28" length, in a REM Sendero contour,1.11.25 5R everything I see for that contour is 26", would I have to "special" order this from Bartlein?

Go with bugholes. He'll make sure you get the right barrel.
I prefer a barrel blank about 2" longer than finish length, personally. Depending on cylinder length and stock inlet you might want even more, though you lose concentricity at muzzle the more you cut off(depending on bore runout).

Thanks, right now he is the "best game going" I don't see many options? Bartlien has a 6 month wait & I'd like to start this in the next couple of months, my Manners stock is ready in another month.
If I have to finish it @ 27" so be it. Thanks

Further to my questions I'm considering a Rock Creek barrel? I may not have moved quick enough to get the Bartlein barrel :(, that said the Rock Creek REM varmint has a 3" breech cylinder diameter, would that affect my Manner's MCS-T5 stock? as far as installation goes? Thanks

I believe this is what you're looking for:

I ended up going with Greg and the Bartlein barrel, one question though, is the REM varmint and sendero the same contour? & is there a Hvy varmint contour? as well?
Any real difference? I'm hoping I made the right choice, heard alot of good things about the Rock Creek barrel. Thanks again for all the input.

Rem Varmint and Sendero are the same contour, originated as a short action vs long action designation but its the same barrel.

Heavy Varmint is a contour but it isnt a remington contour, its a bit longer shank and it ends thicker as well. For mental conceptualization think of a rem varmint/sendero as a medium palma and the heavy varmint as a heavy palma.

Thanks, so using that concept ,there doesn't seem to be any "real measurable" difference. I'm guessing I made the right decision.
