I believe that all I would need is the bottom metal,

Short action BDL box:

And a BDL box spring and follower, which I'm not sure where I can find that at...

Correct? </div></div>

Send me an email I may have a factory BDL option for you.

Re: BDL metal for MCM M40A1 stock

Depends on what the M40A1 stock that JW has is inletted for.
It could be inletted for a factory BDL floorplate, an M40A1 bottom metal kit or one of the Badgers. What does his site say it is inletted for?

I would say standard Remington BDL inletting. Here's what his site says:

Description: HTG Rem. 700 SA, right hand, Rem. 700, Rem. varmint b/c, bdl bottom inlet, 1" dec. pad, 1 bipod stud and 2 flush mount cups ( LH side ) machined aluminum pillars installed, molded in color, sniper fill, approx. 2.625 lbs

Re: BDL metal for MCM M40A1 stock

Jellostorm, if you are going to be staying with the BDL floorplate for the forseeable future, may I suggest that you buy a quality aftermarket BDL floorplate rather than the factory one. PT&G make an excellent sturdy steel one, as does I believe Williams. Both of these are excellent products and significanrt improvement imho over the factory one.

Jello,

If you have a stock inletted for the BDL setup from Remington.

Your easier options would be.

1. Find a used take off for around $55 in the for sale section.

2. Check out the Wyatt's detachable setup for around $225 that is supposed to drop in the BDL inlet
3. Also look at HS precision setup for around $225 that is designed to be drop in as well.

Just a couple more avenues.
