Searched but couldn't find an answer (or didn't understand what I was reading)....

Have a McM A5 with bdl and pillars installed from McM bought through JW. I am finally ready to upgrade to DBM and have been looking at a few options - inlet the A5 I have for Badger M5 or just sell the A5 and get a T2A with the mini chassis installed.

My concern is with the pillars already installed in the A5, if I decide to go with the M5 DBM solution, will the current pillars work or will they need to be replaced with the Badger pillars when they inlet the stock? I am not sure how the current pillars from McM compare to the pillars required for the M5. Will the current setup keep me from using this stock with the M5 and should I just go another direction? What is a reasonable charge for that work if it is possible?

If it is possible, any recommendations on who could do the inletting and the install - preferrably in the PA/MD area (but will ship if necessary)

Thanks

Re: BDL to DBM and pillars question

If the stock has molded in pillars there is no need to remove them. When the stock is cut for the Badger DM the depth of the pillars will be set and if done correctly the bottom metal will drop right in and run.

Hey Ofis - Right outside of Gettysburg in Littlestown (Adams Co). I shoot at Littlestown Fish and Game. Not many know it, its a little town

Thanks Heteca - great info. Now I just need to decide if I keep the A5 and go that route or by a T2A.....decisions, decisions.
