Just sayin'.....Your "complaining" registers to the Cosmos which tends to hear you louder than you hoped.

When I arrived in the West.... I was told "There have been killin's" over water. Not much has changed.

Carrying this a bit farther.... Drought in the West will impact food production. Flooding in the Midwest and Southeast will impact food production.... Just sayin' .....

I'm one who has a keen belief in Karma and Chaos. To which when you start asking for more water....well Mother Nature will allow the flood gates to open VERY wide. It's going to happen.....LOL

The saying "whiskey is for drinking and water is for fighting" has been around a long time and is still just as true. I expect this to continue to intensify as more and more people continue to exploit diminishing natural resources. If businesses decide that they like the Covid-19 work from home approach I believe that I am going to be in the market for some rural land with water rights for just this reason.

Maybe I missed it but what is the reasoning for not releasing the water?
I'm guessing so assholes in LA can have lawns, casinos in LV can blow millions of gallons of water into a dry desert wind, and greedbag companies can follow in the footsteps of Enron and sell overpriced power to the above assholes.

What can go wrong? Of COURSE we need to fuck up what's left of the natural environment so a bunch of fucking morons and illegals can live in the desert with all the amenities of the Pacific NW. Minus the salmon of course.

How else do you create a need for foregn goods?
Yep... And sell home grown commodities (Wheat, corn, soy beans and oats) back to the Americans at inflated prices... Not shaping up to be a good produce season.

Is it trues Callys dumb politicians won't allow the building of underground storage in order to capture and save more water?

Guessing it has to be done judiciciously you don't want to starve natural cisterns or rivers but why not capture what can be captured?

Watched a local construction job dig a multi-million gallon underground reservoir, they build parks on top of them, what could be greener?

"Hey, let's move to a frigging desert with millions of other idiots...what could ever possibly happen?"

It hasn't been too long since people used to plan their living around natural resources. But 'technology and gub'ment' have allowed the idiots to prosper in areas the wouldn't have normally survived...to a point. We are just getting started seeing what is going to happen when the safety nets can no longer keep up with the demands of the idiots. Don't look at places like Ethiopia, or Haiti (just a couple of places I've been to) as a sad story...they are an example of what happens when you outlive and outfuck your capabilities of sustaining your environment.

Those drinking recycled piss water already, my hat is off to you. I can't do it.

True.... There are many books, documentaries, etc on "water".... After you read and study long enough, they all read the same... None have a happy ending. History will repeat here in America.

You might already be doing so without knowing it.

Here in North Texas, the cities are fed from these large man made lakes / reservoirs.
After waste water is treated, it gets sent back to the the same source

A lot of it is the typical "NIMBY" approach.
You want to build giant cities in areas with little water?
Then you need to be willing to go to where there is huge amounts of excess water yearly, and build giant dams and reservoirs and be able to pump that water to the cities in a renewable way, without depleting aquifers and natural lakes.

You also need to have innovative plans to recycle and reclaim water as well as the ability to convert sea water to fresh water as needed.

But that might bother some beetles or such so the NIMBY types refuse to do what should be done.

It was great when T. Boone Pickens bought that ranch south of perryton Texas and was gonna tap the ogalala aquifer and sell it to San Antonio, he thought he could get his pipeline through with imminent domain, but the land owners said fuck you, you ain’t using our water source for the retards 10 hours away, and the courts backed the landowners.
I remember seeing miles of 36” pipe stacked up with no right of way.

Texans are already trying to take the water from Sardis Lake here in Oklahoma too.

Sardis Lake water is mostly fish and washed down deer shit...we don't have the human element yet.

What's funny about that is South Texas floods like mad every couple years.. you know build some giant lake down south and run big pipes up north along the highways.

Maybe one day under a totalitarian government that will be done.
When you see Austin and Houston partially underwater in some spots, you get to thinking somebody could fix the water shortage...

But as Texas becomes ever more Californicated, I fear the problems California currently has will start to show up in Texas before long.

And then Oklahoma will fall after Texas. Its inevitable, and may take longer as the Texas exodus will initially be all conservative...

...But then you know what happens after that.

My brother is selling off his $1.5M place down by Coldspring, and making a run for South Dakota right now.

SD would be a much easier take over target, but it's only saving grace is the bitter winters & lack of any cool scenery.
Most Californicators and other "voting base" types are not really keen on brutal winters encompassing a barren landscape.

Who knows, one day I may be forced out of Texas and have to live out my retirement in SD as well.

The Black Hills don't count for anything? Mount Rushmore? How about the annual freakshow in Sturgis?
I'll agree with you about the brutal winters, but dang man, there's lots to see in South Dakota! ;)

Well, we’re a long ways from that, at least here, his dumbfuck wife is also the reason our tax dollars are feeding a bunch of wild horses instead of shooting the damn things, or building slaughter houses and export the meat.

LOL at the west coast as we sit on 6 quadrillion gallons of freshwater between the five Great Lakes

But hey, y'all just move out of the rust belt. Keep on going.
So true. That coupled with virtually no weather related disasters, reasonable weather patterns, and a proximity to an international trade partner have all added up to New York State still managing to be one of the shittiest states in the union.

If NY was the only state in the Great Lakes region, you might have a point.

But if you must continue down that line, NY doesn't lack for water. can't say the same for any state west of Missouri

Colorado forbids it, and people rat people out over it.

    I know from relatives there.

california was always a desert and still is a desert.
instead of pouring billions into a high speed rail that nobody will ride to get to the syringe and fecal lined streets of san francisco, they should be building desalination plants and MSRs.

Am I having Dejavu here? Or didn't I tell you turds water is the next war fodder?

Some of you poopooed me too.

    Here is another tip.
Invest in seeds and learn how to garden sustainably on small plots.

    Are you listening?

That's what I hate about living in suburbia, no real way to have an garden that provides a meaningful amount of food.

True.... In many cases, it not about a meaningful amount of food, it's about learning to grow something and being able to take that knowledge with you. You may not always be in suburbia. My Grandson got involved with growing the "Square Foot Garden". A great learning tool that he will take with him.

Well, to be fair: every drop of water on earth has been through someone’s or something’s wazoo. The earth is one big recycling plant.

Glad to have my 17 acres in BFE Arkanasa. Two year round creeks on it plus a couple springs. Last Saturday was opening day for tree rat season and I limited out. I figure I got about 12 pounds of meat for $2.40. Williams creek has fish and with a small garden I think I could survive.

Studies of ancient climates tend to show California was not always as people think of it today and it might be heading back to how it was some 500 years ago.
Wait one minute!! You mean to tell me that climate changes in cycles?🤔
And and and it won't always stay the same if we don't drive or raise cattle....🤪.....that's absurd I tell ya..
