Hello all, I am new here and new to long distance shooting.

I have a Weatherby Vanguard 7mm RM with a Hawke Frontier 3-10 50 scope with a Dednutz mount. I replaced the stock with an Knoxx Compstock, it is a Hogue with a spring in the stock.

I am thinking about bedding the action. From what I have read online, I think I can do it myself. In fact part of the motivation is that I think it would be a good project to do with my 10 and 14 year old son.

The stock is pillar bedded. If I bed the action, should I skim bed or remove material around the pillars?

I have seen bedding done online with every epoxy including JB Weld. I am thinking about using Devcon Plastic Steel. Is this a good choice? How much do I need to do one rifle?

Thanks
