It's also interesting to note that japan didn't plunge into chaos. And their reaction to a crisis is very well thought out and there seems to be a mindset of everybody pitching in and "let's get through this". I think it has les to do with how wealthy or what tier their country is classified in and more to do with their culture and their instillment of the values of discipline an politeness. If a 8.9 quake hit of the coast of the US I doubt we would react as well. I think there would be a lot of chaos and things like looting. </div></div>
Agreed, Katrina is a case in point.
