This will be my first time loading my 308 with LRP and choosing seems to be a crap shoot. I understand that 1 may work better in my gear than another. My question is are these match/benchrest primers more consistent? I really don't mind spending the extra funds if they are better. What is the general opinion of those who undoubtedly know better than I?

I've never found anything to work any more consistently than the Federals and I've also seen no difference between the standards and gold medal. In the same regard there's plenty that are just as consistent. The CCI BR primers do have a harder cup than the federals so if you're shooting it in a gas gun or anything that you may be concerned about piercing primers it's something to consider. As long as you're buying quality primers (Federal, CCI, Remington, Tula/Wolf are all GTG) and they're proper for your application then I would say that the best primer is the one that's available.
