OTM's finally arrived. I'm shooting a Rem 700 5R with a 2.945" to the leads dimension.

What do you suggest I do? Do these bullets like a little jam or should I plan on some jump?

TIA.

Well, if they're a 'hybrid' design, you can probably jump them a bit. If you can, start .015" off the lands and fiddle up, or down, from there.

If they're the VLDs, those like to be jammed, or seated really close to the lands, so that's what I would do. Start .010" off and move in, watching for pressure.

I prefer to start jammed then work up the powder charge.Once I find a good charge weight I adjust the seating depth to fine tune.If from a magazine all this is a waste of time unless ya want to single feed.

Jump'em, start at 0.040" and increase as needed.

No reason to jam the 175 OTMs. Heck, no reason to jam the VLDs or hybrids either.

The Berger .308, 175gr OTM Tactical bullet is my favorite .308Win bullet. In my experience, the bullet is extremely tolerant of jump or jam. The bullet doesn't seem to care. Just about every load I tried shot sub-moa consistently, no load development or tweaking.
