berger 230 tactical fps seem low

Good evening folks. I am trying the Berger 230gr tactical bullets with re-22 powder, federal brass and cci lrm primers. I am using bergers load data for min and max but the fps seem extremely low. Berger says that at 67.9 I should be around 2700fps but I am only at 2450. They are using a 26" barrel and I am using a 22" Savage 110fp with 1/10 twist. Would 4 inches really make that big of a difference?

I'm assuming you're shooting a 300 WSM, 4 inches may make that much of a difference, but there may be more factors at play. maybe you should try a slightly faster powder, such as RE-19, but I wouldn't expect much more than what you got out of a 22" barrel.

I used this data in 300 Winchester Magnum
H1000
I found the max charge conservative.
The mv was close though. I got just under 2700 (2696) in a 26" barrel with 73 grs H1000
Your mv doesn't look right, even giving up 4"
For CCI primer, you mean the 250 magnum?
I don't know about federal brass, I'm using Winchester.

No its a 300 win mag Savage 110 not the wsm. I got the same data as you have there. I verified the chrono accuracy usinf factory loads for that rifle as well as with pistols.

I believe this data is very conservative I am working up a load with the 230s using imr 4831 and am at 67.8 gr with no pressure issues not sure what the fps is

Berger makes excellent hunting bullets. The 230 gr Hybrid I'm referring to here is NOT one of them. It is for targets only.

Was just wondering if they would expand at 1200 yards since they will stay supersonic further
