Range Report Berger 30 cal 180gr elite hunter ?

Is anyone running these bullets ?

On paper they look like they will hang with the 215s to 1k or so out of my 300 win mag. Only tested at the range so far, but I had no trouble getting an accurate load at 3100 fps.

I'm interested as well. Just ordered some, moving away from 165 sst for white tail. What is your load data and barrel length?

I am running 77gr of rl26, Sig brass and 215m primers out of a 24" barrel.

Want to try Retumbo, H1000 and 4831 as well, just to see what speeds are realistic.

The 185gr vld hunters are great. This was at 1k today with my .308.

I've run a few hundred of them through an AIAT in 308. Very accurate. Plan to keep using them, just wish Berger's weren't so expensive.

I have a box to try in my .308 barrel but have been putting it off because the 185gr Classic Hunter put 5 in the .3s. We’re the 180gr EHs pretty jump tolerant for you, or are you seating them longer than magazine length?

I don't have access to my reloading notes right now but I don't remember them being too hard to get dialed in; if they were finicky I would have abandoned them quick. I know they're not jammed. I'm using Varget, 44'ish grains if I remember right and a 210M primer, lapua brass. They fit in an AW mag but I think they're right at max mag length.

I'd give them a shot. I think they give the 308 the best blend of BC and velocity when you start getting into heavier bullets.

Any COAL on these for 300WM? Looking to try something with these and H1000.

I ran them in a 308 last year, my buddies gun and his load, about 2700 fps. I shot 2 matches and my wind calls were similar to the guys shooting 6.5s which was nice as they were my first (and still only) matches. One stage went out to 1000 yards and I managed 4 or 5 hits.

May want to try them in my 300wm when I'm out of the 180 SSTs.
