I normally load a 69 grain HPBT sierra matchking for my .223; but due to the recent rush on everything I've had trouble finding them-so I've found a possible substitute: Berger VLD 70 grain HPBT. Will this round be very much different than my old load, being that it is only 1 grain's worth of difference between the two? I may be asking a dumb question-but I want to buy in bulk and want to know all I can before I make the purchase.

Re: Berger Bullet question

Berger and smk are two different style bullets. While the smk will shoot in just about every gun, the vlds are pickier , meaning where they are seated in relationship to the lands. I shoot the hell out of them but it took me a little time to find the right recipe. Where as I can load up an smk with varget or power pro and no matter what it'll probably shoot because it is waayyy more jump tolerant. But I would think the Berger would have a better bc?? If you are shooting ftr every little thing to buck the wind is the goal!!!
