Some guy on another site claims that the ogives on Berger's hybrid and hunting bullets are the same. I dont really trust the source, so can anyone confirm this? Nothing mentioned about this on Berger's site that I could find.

Depends on which hunting bullet you are referring to. The classic hunter is similar to the hybrid, but not the same. The VLD is a secant ogive and is best seated closer to the lands. ( no where close to the same design)
