There are several B14R threads scattered about & I've posted bits here and there. Thought it would be worthwhile to post a thread geared specifically towards B14R issues & solutions that have worked very well for me. Issues: 1. Poor or inconsistent feeding especially with aftermarket stocks...

I had that happen when I slowly short stroked the bolt with a fresh mag installed. Its not a issue that the gun created more than the operator. Nowhere near as bad as that....you must've really hammered that bisch home
I think I had it happen a second time when a spent case ejected out, hit my gamechanger bag (that I used as support in the center of the gun) and it dumped back in the reciever.
One thing I personally dont like is how difficult it is to single feed a cartridge by hand. Its very easy to stick the cartridge in that dead space to the left of the chamber.
I don't ever roll the gun over to the right to dump the super rare errant spent cartridges anymore. I drop the mag....insert/rattle my fingers into the reciever's ejection port....and push anything out the bottom. There's too many little places for the brass to hide or lay crooked. If your rushing the bolt with the mag inserted....your pushing another loaded cartridge into the newly created mess.
Just drop the mag. Keep your follow up rounds prestine and not left accidentally laying on the ground during a stage because your fumbling led to ammo accidentally shucked onto the ground. I don't know of a situation where removing the ammo source is a bad thing when shit goes terribly wrong.

Just got clarification not me or my rifles but an observation from two different people/rifles at seperate matches
I guess I'm just amazed they would leave a hole like that and that size. And somehow never had an issue during testing even though it seems somewhat common
Has anyone filled the hole with something to prevent this from happening?

I'm busy today but I will send that pic to Bergara and ask what I can fill the hole in with. I do not want that happening again.
I suppose it was my awkwardness and poor position that caused the slow bolt manipulation, and did not/could not see inside so I just thought it was not feeding right and slammed it home. Thankfully it came out thanks to your pick Brandon. I'll be more careful

Pretty sure that hole is for your extractor, so filling it is a really bad idea.
That's a poor design.
If thats the space for the extractor id think the receiver in front of it would be solid. I cant imagine the extractor take up much if that space and certainly not enough that you can fit a whole 22LR in the hole
The front of my Ruger looks the just like that with a hole on either side of the chamber. One is for the extractor and the other is for a retaining clip that holds the other side of the rim. Even the Vudoo is built that way.
Filling in the extra space is not a solution.
Slow bolt manipulation is not the cause of this.
Fix the issues that cause control round feeding to loose control on extraction.
