Who would have thought this was so difficult! I'm looking for a bullet that is amazing for F-Class and rocks on Whitetail Deer. I'd love to work-up one load, on one bullet, and be able to shoot awesome groups at 1000-yds and drop a deer at 750-yds +.

Does this bullet exist for the 300WSM? Is it the Berger 210 VLD Hunting bullet? Will that drop a deer? Or, is it a match bullet with "hunting" printed on the box? If not Berger, what?

That was the first bullet I looked at but saw it did not offer much more, in terms of BC, over the 175gr. So I started looking at the 200gr+ as they retain fps and ft lbs more. But, what am I losing in terms of accuracy with those bigger bullets? Also, the 190gr SMKs are pricey and come in 50-round packs as opposed to 100-round packs.

Also, can I hunt deer with a MatchKing???

dude......a whitetail deer is a thin skinned north american game animal, not an armoured brinks truck.....be good with your shot placement and hope you do not ruin too much meat!

savvy the 190 BC.....it will do rather nicely to 1k....and beyond trust me.

+1, that's what I shoot out of mine, its a hammer on deer and antelope. I'm sure it would do the same on elk but I haven't tried that yet, but the performance out of my .308/175's on elk were great so I assume the 190 would do just as well if not better. Even if the BC wasn't a significant advantage, the extra weight would be. Where do you buy them in 50 boxes? I have always bought them in 100's

You're right, I was mixing them up with the 210 SMKs. http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=1482384313 They are boxes of 50, which kinda sucks.

Re: Best 300WSM bullet for tarets and hunting?

I think I've found it.

I can use 200gr SMKs for targets and 200gr GameKings for hunting. I read on another forum these bullets are only 1/2MOA adjustment away from each other, when sitting them on the same powder load. Should make switching over to hunting season rounds easier.

Re: Best 300WSM bullet for tarets and hunting?

Why such heavy bullets? Are you also hunting elk or is this specifically going to see whitetail only? I guess what im trying to get at is that 200 grains is alot of bullet for such a thin skinned animal. Not that it won't do the job but i bet you'll see better more consistent results with a 150grn pill on whitetail.

Not trying to stir a pot or anything, just curious on your thoughts and reasoning behind this.

Thanks,
Dylan
