Looking for ammo for squirrel hunting hearing #6 is best will be using a IM Carlson ported choke wondering what brand/weight will be best for gray squirrels here in md mostly just typical not very dense pine/ oak Forrest open to better chokes choke brands or even shot size

You can try a bunch of different loads to see what patterns best, or just pick up whatever you can find and blast away. I like Remington Shurshot loads, but I think it's discontinued. You don't need high brass or anything expensive to kill tree rats. You will probably be walking around the woods and swatting them out of the trees. That's what we did.

What size shot and what weight load do u recommend

Shot size 7 1/2 or 6 always worked for most critters, from rabbits to grouse, squirrels included. I liked the Shurshot because they were 1oz loads and they were less expensive than the primo stuff. The cheap promo "field loads" or "game loads" are 3/4oz or 7/8oz. Any brand should work, 1oz of #6 or #7 1/2, and have some fun
