Personally I've never used a single take down or pivot pin that wasn't included in the LPK. I've never seen the need to. If it takes down with difficulty, it wont for long. That pin you linked doesn't look like it has a groove for the detent pin. Are you supposed to remove the take down pin completely every time you break down your rifle? That seems unnecessary. I seriously can't fathom how hard it must be to push the pin out to spend an extra $13 on a pin. I mean, if it takes a hammer and a cleaning rod to take the pin down, ok I'm with you. But saving yourself $13 seems like a better idea, but hey its your money.

Lol... Good luck finding reasonably priced LPK's of quality. It's cheaper right now to piece one together with quality components than it is to buy a cheap kit on GB. Way to give a constructive answer though...

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or not so I'm not being defensive. I'm genuinely curious as to how hard he must have to push the standard pin to get get it to dislodge itself from the detent. And I stand by my statement that it doesnt seem like a good idea to remove the take down pin completely every time, if the KNS pin has you doing that.

If he's looking, or if you are:

All in stock at the time of posting. I just installed 2 PSA LPK's with ALG QMS triggers and all installed without a problem. The safety seems easier to flip than I am used to, but it doesn't seem overly loose. I haven't shot with either of them yet though.

But I think he only wants a new take down pin. Which the dsg link above has a standard ar15 take down pin also in stock. Maybe his detent spring is too long or something...shrug.

Not sure how many Colt HBAR's you have taken down but mine requires two screw drivers (one on each side) and some considerable care and force to remove it and to keep from damaging the head of the stock Colt Receiver Pivot Pin and Screw. You don't push the pin out as you suggested. You need to unscrew it. It locks up very tight and has not gotten any looser in the 15 years plus years I have owned the rifle. It is a PIA to swap out uppers which is why I decided to try an aftermarket pivot pin.

I just spoke with the Tech Rep at Brownells and he says they sell a lot of KNS and Yankee Hill pins to solve this problem. He says they lock in place and pop right out -no problem and they are one of the most popular AR15 parts they sell.

Palmetto Armory is fine if you want a basic LPK for people that don't abuse their equipment, but it doesn't change the FACT that the OP didn't ask about an entire LPK. You can choose or choose not to be defensive, but your answer didn't really address the OP's question but seemed more like a questioning of his statement of need based upon your "personal experience". So yes... I was being sarcastic.
