what is the best can to run on a 308 in a semi auto platform as far as blowback goes? I've got a 30 p-1, a mk13, and a couple of other cans and I'm getting a little pissed about the amount of blowback I keep getting on my semi auto rifles........

Not sure you can really control it with a can effectively, only thing that has worked for me is an adjustable gas block.
I've heard the OSS cans have pretty incredibly low back-pressure. No experience with them, though, other than shooting next to one.
A piston AR has less, but some none the less. I had an HK and still have LWRC rifles, both produce less blow back. Can't really eliminate it completely.
My JP has a side charging handle that seems to also help some, but not much.

They are heavy, and complicated. But they are great for blowback. My friend has one, I have fired it. It is one of 2 rifle cans he owns, the other stays on a bolt rifle. He literally has no idea what gas blowback is. When I speak to him about it, he looks at me like I am making shit up.
Brass in middle was shot unsuppressed. Top and bottom from Surefire RC2 out of a DI AR-15. Rifle is a little dirtier when shot suppressed but not a whole lot. Brass is certainly not black like I've seen from other suppressors. Rifle does not have adjustable gas but it's a KAC so it's on the lightly gassed side.
Theres ways to mitigate it, PRI Gasbuster Charging Handle or similar charging handles with ports, LMT Enhanced BCG with 3 gas ports instead of 2 or none, and an adjustable gas block, the biggest help being the adjustable gas block.
ETA: Ive also seen vents in place of the forward assist, if your AR10 has a FA. Never tried it, but seems like a decent idea. Haha.

TranQuilo is a heavier can (23 oz, steel, not Ti) than TBAC but so far, I can live with the extra weight for the ability to run a bit fast rate of fire w/o worry about temp. So far the TranQuilo has been very repeatable can in terms of POI shift being very minimal from can on / can off and that I don't have to mes with gas system can on / can off.
I love the TBAC on bolt rifles but so far on an AR, the LaRue is solidly in the lead.

Rifle stays cleaner, ammo,Trigger group Etc.The rifle stays as clean with the suppressor as it is without the Suppressor. Your ejection stay's the same as without a suppressor.
No need for Adjustable gas block
One of the features of the OSS unit is that If you do have an adjustable gas block, you leave it in normal mode always for semi-auto.
I see that it is the best choice for DI/ Piston units
There is another suppressor made overseas with little to no back pressure and imported into the USA which another hide member talked about. At the moment I donot have the website.
I see now that suppressors with baffles, that you really don't know how your AR/ Semi will function until you try it. You wait months to get your can and find out you need modifications to your rifle to make it run perfect.
I have seen that suppressors that are baffleless you have no modifications to be needed on you rifle, screw it on and go. No wait and see!!!

- No degrading of weapon durability, precision or reliability
- No loss in sound or flash signature reduction

OSS Suppressor is one I like to have but $$$$ , and 2016 model 2017 model is different so I do need to understanding more then make decision

I have an OSS that fits over the barrel. This limits what barrel/ gas combos you may use along with barrel diameter. They are heavy and not as quiet in my opinion as competition. There is no blowback or gas in my face.
The only reasons to get an oss can; need to eliminate blowback or almost free.

The newest OSS cans are just as effective in sound suppression based on the ones I've demoed. Far as running semi auto I don't know how there is any comparison. The OSS can technology is going to win out. See if you can demo one. Make you a believer. No gas blowback. None. Zilch.

If you would like to reduce the gas without buying a whole new can, I suggest the LanTac BCG with larger port holes and forward facing port hole. I have one a 10.5" shorty and it cut blowback to the face at least 30%. You can also add a gasbuster handle to the combo and it will proably help significantly enough that you can take he money you saved from having to buy a new can and put that money toward more tigger time.
It's a pricey bolt carrier at around $320 but better then paying $800+ and a 6month to year wait on your new can.
