2 DAYS LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have got into coyote hunting lately. Howling is the hardest call for me to use. I have diaphram call by primos pluse lil dog, hot dog. What do you use/
like ARP said, I use customs. Have a variety from cow horn to exotic woods. I stay away from the plastics myself.
Have a great cow horn howler that is second to none ! Best sounding one I have ever heard... something about using the horn that makes it very realistic sounding.
Here's mine...homemade from a steerhorn, the reed block is made from a chunk of Dall Sheep horn. Custom hand calls are the way to go as far as producing a sound that is "unique" as compared to commercial calls that tend to all sound tha same. I'm not saying they wont work, but coyotes hearing the same sounds over and over can be really tough to get in.
Scott, the next time you come up, bring that howler....two guys howling in tandem is really deadly in the summer!
