All of my NV/thermal devices are approaching 10nyrs in age with exception of FLIR unit that is 5 or 6. What’s the best thermal in my range today? The few I’ve read about seem to point to Tijicon?/

Well the patrol or even the reap (either g1 or g2) have been the middle end stand by for some time ... but the new Axions and new-ish Atlases well give some keen competition in this space. For size, the Axions are king. For long distance the Atlas 100mm are king.
The Patrols and Reaps have rails on them that allow you to add a range finder and thus wind up with a thermal range finder, which I've found useful.

Rifle with its own ranger finder and thermal clipon, and patrol with its own range finder.
The hand held allows rapid scanning of a large area to locate the target critters (which go after my chickens) and then I can bring the rifle on them.

+1 on what @wigwamitus said, Trijicon Patrol/Reap. Either one would provide a lot more versatility than any other option on the market right now.
