Need an upgrade for my 20” 308 Remington 700 tactical. Was my first rifle and I’m looking forward to hunting with it again.

I’ve been driving myself crazy with scope choice.

Gun is already heavy so not concerned with lightweight.

Ideally but not necessary:
Mil & SFP
Plex (a reticle that’s not too busy)
2-12 or 4-16 ish? With large objective

I already have a VX6hd and a VH5hd so I’m looking for not Leupold.

Scopes that have my attention and my issues with each

Zeiss V4 3-12 (moa)
Zeiss V4 4-16x50 (moa and moa reticle)
Nightforce nsx 3.5-15x50 (Mil R reticle)
Nightforce SHV 4-14x56 (moa)

I’ve even looked at the cheap trijicon accupowers and I’m not opposed.
No budget but if you know where to find a deal on suggested scope shoot it over!

I've been pleased with the now discontinued Bushnell LRHS, either the 3x12 or the 4.5x18. Seems ideal for hunting. FFP, though. One's in the PX now for under $800. (Not mine?)

Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 with forceplex, or NXS 2.5-10x42. Mil R reticle with mil dials. Works great for hunting, anything longer than a point and shoot where you have time to dial, you will likely crank the mag up to 10x.

or can go up to the aforementioned 3-15x50 if you want more magnification.

I have one of the LRHSi 4.5-18 That I bought from a forum member and would recommend you take a look at one if possible.
Very solid offering for a hunting optic.
The reticle is slightly thicker than I would prefer for a precision paper puncher but not so thick it hinders accuracy for dot shooting.
The illuminated circle is a really nice feature when on the low end for quick target acquisition at close range.

I have read on here that a lot of people like the new Meopta Optika 6 rifle scopes. Though I do not have one my self yet, I am really leaning towards getting one in FFP (probably the 5-30 version). They are reasonably priced, and you can probably get a great deal from CameraLand; I have read on many occasions that guys get a great deal from them. OpticsPlanet sometimes has good sales, too. If you plan to buy from either, I would try calling them & informing them that you are a member of SnipersHide.
