What is the consensus on the best way to mount a scope. I know this has come up before but I have heard some recommend to tighten the rings to the scope before the rings to the base. The video from CStactical shown that the rings were tighten to the base first so I am a little confused. Thanks in advance.

Bottom half of rings to base then set scope in rings to get proper cant and eye relief and place ring caps and tighten. Done.

Install the rings on the base first, then isnstall the scope lossly in the rigs. Get behind the rifle to set scope position. Next use feeler guages to level scope and tighten down cross pattern with torque screwdriver.
