Hello, I was removing a front sight from a Kimber 1911 the other day with a brass punch. Long story short, the brass slipped after impact from hammer and left a small brass streak on top of slide. I have rubbed and rubbed but can't get it off. Does anyone have any suggestions???? Thanks in advance

Hate it when that happens?

I use Breakfree or G96. Seems to take most of the brass color off but looking closely there are some tiny little divots. It doesn't worry me. Battle scars...the girls love'em
You could have a gunsmith adjust extractor and/or ejector to minimize it I would think. HTH, Preston

Thanks guys. The slide has a blued finish, gloss on the flates, matte finish on the top. I tried putting alittle Kroil on it but going to try again with a litlle 0000 steel wool
