Our first Black Hat Training Corps 2 Day Initial / Intermediate Precision Course is open for registration.

Black Hat Training Corps is an established long range training company in Southeast & East-Central PA. Complete course information and registration page:

The course will be held on Apr 15/16 (Fri/Sat) at MCSA, Mifflin County Sportsmens association in Lewistown, PA.

http://www.mifflincosportsmens.com/

There are great places to eat nearby, and the clubhouse may be bunked in for a $10.00 donation per night.

The course is comprehensive, and covers all the essential elements you would expect to find:

# BRM Review (Basic Rifle Marksmanship Fundamentals, precision rifle specifics of BRM)
# Setting up your shooting position
# Properly recording your engagement data in a data book (we can provide Impact Databooks ™ configured expressly for the course)
# Communication and terminology
# Spotter-shooter communication and dialogue
# How to give the shooter useful information - properly calling hits and misses
# Zeroing - Establishing and maintaining a good precision rifle zero
# Equipment choices for the precision shooter
# Optics, focal planes
# How to avoid three common MISStakes with optics.
# Care and maintenance of the precision rifle platform
# Exterior Ballistics, MET/ENV, and the science of trajectory calculation
# Using a chronograph, and a ballistic calculator
# Reticle based range estimation and mathematics (MIL and MOA)
# Reticle based holds (against wind, for elevation)
# Engagement drills exercising these techniques on actual UKD targets out to 1025Y.
# Making the most out of uneven ground, or unusual circumstances.
# Rapid Bolt Engagement drills.
# Unusual/Hasty Position shooting.
# A small, friendly competition among the students on day 2.

This is not a canned course. We are constantly updating the lesson plan with new concepts, techniques and drills that cement skills down or provide realistic training scenarios. We employ line coaches who are seasoned long range shooters to help you out, right there on the gun. You will come out of this course knowing how to fish for yourself in terms of long range precision target shooting.

It's become kind of a tradition that those who want to join the staff for dinner and cocktails Thursday and Friday nights are most welcome. We enjoy getting to know everyone, and we'll send coordinates for the RP in advance.

Required equipment, recommended gear, and full information are listed on the course page linked above. We are happy to provide LE and MIL a 10% discount, and specific LE/MIL/Civ references upon request.

The guys at the club are GREAT. They almost always cook lunch, and most of the time cook breakfast for us too. You don't have to rough it too bad.....

Thanks, and we're always here on the hide for questions. PM / Email - it's all good.

Merry Christmas! (Please see our official Christmas Card below)

Yessir, you made it. You are under the wire by two. Welcome aboard.

We will have a confirmation going out in the first couple weeks of February. Don't worry about funds until then. There's no need to sit on people's money for that long.

Something different this time. We will be sending out some pre-course materials via email. A guide with some simple on-line practice exercises and a short quiz to get you thinking in the right direction where some of the more challenging blocks of instruction in the course are concerned.

We're looking forward to working with everyone up here in the scenic mountains of PA. Prior courses have required a cease fire so a bear could safely cross the range, a menacing rattlesnake and a spotted fawn less than a week old.

I really wanted to sign up for this. Oh well, I'll have to look at your schedule and plan for another coming up.

Re: BHTC 2 Day Precision Rifle Course, Apr 15/16

I will have a reporting instructions email going out with all this too.

We will be there setting up on Thursday so you can arrive pretty much any time after 3 or 4pm. If you are coming really late, please make it before 10:30. I want lights out at 11pm or I will be cranky in the morning.

We will be meeting for chow at cowboy jacks at 7pm on Thursday. Also on Friday, time to be established based on the progress of the training day.
