Big Piney Sportsmans Club, near Houston, MO, will be conducting a night shoot competition on 12 October. Course of fire is less than 40 rounds all shot from prone. Targets will be in roughly 100 yd increments out to 600 yards.
In the past we have illuminated the targets with vehicle headlights (parked well off to the side or behind berms) and hung glow sticks over the center mass of the target. I have seen several competitors hit these glow sticks from 600 yards out!! Comp should start at 7pm, show up early to get sighted in and check your dope.
This is a good time as I have never had an opportunity to shoot at night before. The illumination is generally good enough to see your reticle with out having a lighted reticle, although it seems very fine target reticles are difficult to pick up.
