Bipod question

I always sight in my rifles using a heavy front bench rest. If you are going to compete using a bipod would it be best to sight in the rifle using the bipod? Or should a person still do initial sight in using a good solid front rest? I am wanting to know if bipod shooter's have found a difference in your POI's sighting in your rifle with a front rest?

I usually sight my guns in on a bench, then move to the bipod and see if anything has changed. Just my .02 worth.

I have not noticed any difference in sighting in from the bench and then switching to the bipod. I do think it may differ from rifle to rifle depending on were the bipod is mounted, under the stock or onto the chassis, what material the stock is made from (ridged or flexible) the type of surface the bipod is resting on and if the bipod feet are metal or rubber. Maybe someone else has more experience with this?
