I've seen many photos of a bipod mounted on the swivel closest to the barrel and then I've seen some mounted on the more inner swivel. Are there any pros or cons to either of these?

Mounting the bipod on the front swivel makes it easier to sling the rifle.
Mounting the bipod forward makes it more stable. Closer to the back makes the rifle track quicker. However the difference is negligible when you are talking about a couple inches.
