So, mentioned a few days back new bird flu initially hitting Iowa. It has spread, like Avian flu's will do, from wild bird to domesticated. This will cause serious economic problems and further food shortage issues, the zoonotic outcome is yet to be seen - they are already laying the media prep that this could be our next pandemic.

This is indeed the H5N1 strain, and goes from wild migratory birds to domestic birds to potentially humans. This strain was reported by Russia to be in the Ukranian Biolabs. But I'm sure this couldn't have come from a lab (sarcasm).

2022 Detections of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza

    Last Modified: Feb 16, 2022

The United States has the strongest avian influenza surveillance program in the world. Through our ongoing wild bird surveillance program, APHIS collects and tests large numbers of samples from wild birds in the North American flyways. It is not uncommon to detect avian influenza in wild birds, as avian influenza viruses circulate freely in those populations without the birds appearing sick. In addition to monitoring for avian influenza in wild bird populations, APHIS monitors for the virus in commercial and backyard birds.
With the recent detections of the Eurasian H5 strain of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in wild birds and domestic poultry in the United States, bird owners should review their biosecurity practices and stay vigilant to protect poultry and pet birds from this disease. APHIS is working closely with State partners on surveillance, reporting, and control efforts.

I'd list all the states affected, but why bother because it will be everywhere soon. Get your eggs now while you can. This could crash chick-a-filet.

    Say Hwut?

This article from confirming H5N1 is from lab will probably disappear soon too:

Laboratory creation of a highly transmissible H5N1 influenza virus: balancing substantial risks and real benefits

    Abstract

Controversy erupted when influenza researchers announced that they had created an H5N1 influenza virus that was transmissible between ferrets. The controversy escalated when the National Science Advisory Board for Biosecurity (NSABB) recommended that the work be published but recommended significant voluntary redactions. The responses to the NSABB action and to the research itself have been polarized. A readily transmitted H5N1 virus could be extraordinarily lethal; therefore, the risk for accidental release is significant, and deliberate misuse of the data to create a biological weapon is possible. However, the knowledge gained by these and future experiments under appropriate safeguards is likely to allow critical understanding of influenza transmission and virulence. It would be irresponsible to adopt either extreme solution: to prevent and censor the research or to allow unlimited distribution without careful review by an independent group, such as the NSABB.

    Yawn. More fear porn.
Its an argument we need to get rid of these genetically modified viruses and their researcher/labs. I eat eggs and chicken a couple times a week and I'm sure most here do to.
Transmission to humans with the 2011 versions of H5N1 showed limited transmissability to humans, but significant mortality and morbidity when contracted. That was a decade ago, and they aren't making these viruses to be less virulent and pathogenic.

bird flue ain't nothing kfc hasn't use real chicken since Colonel Sanders died in the 80's

now if you said it was a cat or dog flue you would shut down every fast food shop in the country as well as Chinese take out stores and most non quality restraints in the country .

I guess the boys in Louisiana will just have to eat more gator... Gator nuggets are better than chicken nuggets, anyway.
Those infected chickens will still make good gator bait.
I don't know why gators are still protected. We have so many gators and hogs they're a nuisance. They're everywhere.

Because, unlike a backhoe, they dont require any fuel to eliminate your ...ahem...problems...ahem. They turn problems into fertilizer.
I know folks with lakes on their property and friends with property on lakes, all have gator skeletons buried deep. It's utterly ridiculous.

I must be living under a rock, haven’t heard one local story about this. I’ve got a family relationship with one of the largest egg layers in IA (and the country) and they had a huge portion of their birds die a few years ago. Not sure if that made the news or not but disease runs through these facilities and they know how to deal with it.

I’m not aware of any chickens coming from Chyna so we should be able to replace them

Well, it took it's time, but it's here. Could be worse than hyperinflation, global thermonucular war and three days chained in a hot tub with the old battle-axes from The View.

Well, I'm sure its been weaponized (gain of function) to enhance spread to other species. They needed to get rid of eggs/chicken as potential source of cheap protein, plus they have an "excuse" to monitor private farms. Here we are with 8$/dozen eggies.

Here in CO I personally know someone who had to kill 2000 laying hens because of "possible exposer."

    CPW {Colorado Parks and Wildlife} put out signs around all the lakes that read "HPAI detected in this area." Then published a story about how 600 snow geese died at John Martin Reservoir, this out of hundreds of thousands. {Easily within the normal death rates for migrating snow geese}

The governor declared himself the emergency czar of the "possible coming situation" months back and is driving the useless culling of chicken houses for possible exposure, and perpetuating another fake pandemic.

I remember when 100% of Deer in Washington I think it was were "testing positive for COVID."

We went ice fishing a month ago or so. There was literally hundreds of dead geese laying on the ice.

I was fishing and a lone blue goose flew overhead and landed about 125yds away. As I sat there this goose casually walked straight to me. He walked a loop around me and ice holes. He was 5' from at one point. Not threatening or anything but not acting normal by a long shot. Then he just walked off.

I wasn't scared considering I'm surrounded by dozens of dead birds in this modest cove. But gotta admit it was like nothing I've seen. Snows and Blues don't normally let you within 50yds of them.

There are so many dead birds there the coyotes, raccoons, mink, hawks, owls, eagles, badgers......every kind of animal with no qualms scooping up dead animals can't keep up.

    Got any pictures?

I don't know about it and i am the general public. I haven't seen any pictures, nor do I know what GFP is.

All I find is stuff like this, no pictures, no evidence, some hearsay, and some stupid claims. Does much stuff rot up there in the freeze of South Dakota?

James said there appeared to be very little rotting so he believed many of the dead birds died recently.

Murano said the public should contact the GFP if they see a dead or sick bird. The GFP may not test that bird but the mortality will be documented, he said.

symptoms of the Avian Flu for wild birds are edema or swelling of the head, nasal discharge, decreased activity, inability to swim/walk or take flight, ruffled feathers, diarrhea and tremors. South Dakota reported its first case of avian influenza in a commercial turkey farm in Beadle County in 2015.

In Nebraska the state’s 13th case of bird flu was found in Dixon County, the state’s most northeast county that borders South Dakota. That case will prompt 1.8 million chickens to be killed.

Switzer said the current outbreak is “much different” than seen in 2008 and 2015 when there was “minimal” wildlife mortality. All birds can be vectors, but transmission generally occurs from wild birds to domestic, according to Switzer.

He noted this one comes as snow geese migrate north to nesting grounds and showed the commission a short video of an infected Canada goose. The state Game, Fish and Parks Department staff hasn’t been able to pick up all the dead wild birds that have been reported, including instances of some dropping from the sky.

Another propaganda piece with nothing to substantiate, but the same games come into play remembering the COVID campaign.

This strain of avian flu is intense, smart and sneaky.

This strain of avian flu is infecting domestic poultry and wild birds at record-breaking levels despite that most domestic sites have installed stringent biosecurity since the last major bird flu outbreak in 2015.

This one linked to one of the others articles as substantiation of what is "happening."

Large mortality events are not un-common during migration. Large die offs are usually Avian Cholera. {endemic in NE} We have die off events on every lake, every year. This year, its all because of "HPAI," and if someone got too close to the lake, they cull your chicken house for possible exposure. And now, we have 53 million bird deaths "because of HPAI.":rolleyes:

Just a reminder: Bourda, the Pfizer CEO, is a vet who has as his claim to fame inventing a vaccine causing complete sterilization (of animals). His claim to infamy we all know.
