It is my B-I-L's birthday today, and we didn't want to just give him the regular 'cake' and "blow out the candles" routine. So we made this:

Problem is, I'd spend nearly $200.00 bucks on electronic gizmo-gadgetry to replicate a countdown timer similar to the one Riggs and Murtaugh happened upon in Lethal Weapon 3. Except'n... I'm no IED builder and nobody I asked would help me on it. Really frustrating, and eventually ran out of time.

Here's a picture of the "spaghetti mess" that I'd come up with so far, if anyone's interested. Me and "Arduino's" ain't friends right now.

No matter how many times I tried, or how many different ways I clicked the buttons, I could not get the 'board' to sync up with the computer. Funny thing is, if I were to actually be wanting to build an actual timer for an actual bomb, there are FAR EASIER ways to do it, with FAR FEWER pieces, processes, and components.

Any computer gizmo-gadget-geeks out there, wanna gimme a hand to finish this thing off? All this effort into it, and I'd kinda like to see it actually finished. Then we can make another cake, for my cop friend's birthday. HA.

(that was a joke. Tempting, but a joke)
