I am looking for Blaser 338 Lapua barrel owners. With Blaser hammer forming their barrels, I am interested in inconsistencies in throat area as it transition into the barrel lands. If you are a Blaser owner or know of an owner with a 338 Lapua barrel, have you began noticing inconsistencies in your groups? Or have you had a barrel inspected with a borescope and come across erratic wear in the chamber. This wear is not supported by heat checking or cracking indicating excessive case pressure over a time period.

Hi mate,

I know this is a bit of an old post; however, I noticed that nobody answered you. I own a Blaser Tactical 2 in .338 Lapua Magnum and have done since 2009. I am also in the Aussie Army and had quite a bit of exposure to the Blaser system though work too. I have fired just over 2000 rounds through my personal Blaser and not noticed any inconsistencies in my groups. Mine still shoots .5 to .75in groups at 100m every time I have done a grouping practice with it. It is mainly used for 1000m plus for me. The work rifles have well in excess of that and still shoot less than 1 MOA depending on the shooter. Our armourer people at work have never mentioned any problems about throat erosion in the Blaser. These barrels are tough as anything I have ever seen.

Hope that helps.
