I have the chance to pick up a blaser tactical 2 in 308 win. with the blaser one piece scope mount or a weaver style rail on it, used in good condition for $1995. Do any of you guys have any experience with one of these rifles? and if so what do you think of it? pro and cons? I know that they retail for a lot more than that new and that the scope mount it's self is around $400 new. What you guys think is this a good price for this rifle and would it be a good rifle for long range target shooting or should I go with something else? I already have a few remington 700's and was looking for something a bit different and hopefully a little better accuracy. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Also do you know if the barrel on this rifle can be changed out to fire 300 win mag or 338 lapua, If so I would assume that you would have to change the bolt as well.

A simple request to do a search and fill out their profile should be sufficient. No need to belittle the guy.

A friend of mine has the Blaser Tactical 2, and I have shot it on numerous occasions. For me, it was a little difficult to get behind and I had issues keeping it stable. The one time I was able to settle down however, it was very accurate. It also get an incredible amount of attention at the shooting range. Whether that's good or bad, depends on you. I personally would rather keep low key.

I may be wrong, but I do believe you can quickly change out the barrel to .338 Lapua because my friend has talked about doing so. I'm not sure about .300 win mag. The barrels however, are EXTREMELY expensive, about the $1700 each which is almost the price you're paying for the rifle. That being said, <2k for the rifle is a great deal. I think he paid $3600 for his.

Well, he just happens to be "that guy" today. That's not considering that there are two different threads on page 2 of this exact forum that answer his question. If you are lazy, you should learn to expect hate. Period.
