Does anyone here have experience with blc-2 in a 308 gas gun?

Re: blc-2 in 308 gas gun

I found blc-2 was to temperature sensitive for my use.

Maybe you will have better results.

Re: blc-2 in 308 gas gun

It works fine but is not the best choice in the 308. I find that Varget is cleaner and produces more accurate loads in my DPMS.

My TAC has a 16" bbl so I plan to try 4198 as it may give more velocity. I found 4198 was the best powder in the 338 Federal with 185 TSXs for accuracy & velocity.

BLC-2 is THE powder for the 222 Remington.

I have used WC-846, which is essentially the same thing.

Re: blc-2 in 308 gas gun

Not to get off topic, but does anyone use BLC-2 for .223. I picked up a few pounds the other day to try, but have not loaded any yet. It was all I could find, the shelves are bare.
Thanks,
Pat

Works fine for me, I don't remember what the load was offhand, I think about 24 grains to start?

W844 and 846 are very close (H335 and BLC2) and while I don't load them interchangably, they both work very well in 223.
