Blur Force Gear Redi-Mod

Re: Blur Force Gear Redi-Mod

I have one. It is good for having it on a grab and go rifle. Allows you to have 2 loaded mags ready at all times on the weapon.

Fast reloads with some practice. Some of the later BFG versions were refinished in a black finish unlike the original gray. People were complaining about the gray wearing off and staining kit and clothing. Or so I was told.

I don't think BFG is making these anymore. I haven't seen one for sale in a while.

Re: Blur Force Gear Redi-Mod

BFG discontinued these because the demand wasn't there to offset the costs . If you have a machinist friend or a steady hand with a Dremel you can achieve similar results by modifying one yourself .

Re: Blur Force Gear Redi-Mod

I'm running a standard Redimag on my house gun as its the easiest was to secure an extra mag to the rifle . If I was using it in any other function I'd pull it off and just use standard belt reloads .
It adds a lot of weight to the rifle and changes the balance point , not so much empty but when you hang a second mag . Haven't got around to lightening the Redimag yet but the weight is more form the ammo than it .
I've never been a fan of the mag couplers regardless of there brand or construction because every one of them I've seen the mags have slipped around and the one not seated in the mag well the top round tends to work forward with recoil and create a malfunction . The Redimag gets around this because its attached to the rifle and the top of the mag is covered and the ammo stack is supported .

Re: Blur Force Gear Redi-Mod

I have a regular redi-mag attached to my rifle. I love mine and have owned it for a few years. Like many have stated if you don't carry your rifle a long distance than it's a great option much like the side saddle on a shotgun. However it does add a lot of weight to the rifle, but you can reload faster. I have not used the new surefire mags that hold 60+ rounds, but that may be a cheaper/better option.
